And then it strikes its first blow
and leaves behind its fangs in his frail body.
The sight that was weak is but now perhaps a blur
and the concern around just a noise.

In this moment of tragedy
what you leave behind is a legacy.
Your blessings in vermillion and grains every year
is now forever etched in our memories.

You may go and leave us behind forever
but I know I would see you in my dreams .
Till I see you again in that mysterious vale
will live with your memories and blessings.

That great void which now will be created
an abyss never  again  to be filled up.
Memories and only in our memories you will now live,
to be missed and remembered always.

Your true worth now will be revealed
We would now understand your worth.
But its too late for us to repent and be despondent
For he will soon be gone to never  again return…

About “Grand father”, the emerging feelings put in beautiful profound verse
So true; but in the harried & hurried life of today, most young, do they have time to nurture & nurse …!

    Liked the poem immensely

    Krishna,
very moving poem. Full of life’s pain.
“That great void which now will be created
an abyss never again to be filled up.
Memories and only in our memories you will now live,
to be missed and remembered always.”
    Great lines, all great lines,
    Fergus

life’s darker side mostly thumbed an ignore button most explicitly expressed, Krishna. more importantly i liked your profile intro. it was very soil and water speak.

Krishna, it is never too late to love, to bouquet ones feelings…yr grand’pa I am sure would feel good wherever he is to see you write a warm piece on him which is leaving the readers moved.

    Best Wishes
