Elegantly talking is this poem “Ticks & Tocks”
Though total meaning find difficult to unlock…

    Commends

  4. kusum says:

Life’s swings through ticks and tocks of time well expressed through colourful imagery.

  5. rohan says:

great poem. i interpreted it as being about one’s alienation from nature and the alienation from this alienation that occurs at night which seems harmonious with nature yet is interrupted by the ticks and tocks until they blend in with the mood of the night and bring about a trance like sublime experience.

    • Gion Gion says:

      Rohan,
indeed that is some part of this poem.
The lines evolved as being written down.
So it is at one level a descriptive piece but there are layers of feeling and thought in the wording.
      A clock as a literary metronome 😉
Thanks for delving into this poem and for your thoughtful comments,
      Fergus

  7. Fergus,

Just the march of time and memories as time speeds , marked by the tick -tock of the clock.
loved the last two lines—–‘ a vacant mind in silence seeks,// to hold and dissect tick from tocks.
    Really appealing ….
