I peer into the glass

And see her

She seems familiar, yet unknown

Heightening the sense of danger

I look at her eyes –

Dark, forlorn, exhausted

I wonder the reason behind it

They seem searching for something; yet frosted

The glint in her eyes missing

And the age defying her charm

She looked desperately for something

Yet raised no alarm

She reminded me of myself

Searching for identity; my own place in the sun

Same impatience, same uneasiness

Headed for a long empty run

Difficult questions are not those

The ones that others ask.

But the ones that pop up unexpectedly…

“What’s my life’s purpose? What’s my task?”

I struggle to find answers

Don’t know where to find

The stranger smiled at me

Said –“We are one of a kind!”

“Sometimes when knowing the entire picture may not be possible

It’s equally fine to know what’s next?

Life may reveal itself in moments inspired

And yes – It can be simple; not always perplexed”

My introspection for the day ended

I heave a relieved sigh

The stranger gives a knowing wink ….

She was no one but my reflection standing by!
