English Poetry

On the stairs the other day ,

I met my dreams ,castaway .

The ones that writhed in pain and died

like the withered leaves , well dried .

They were trampled upon ,

crumbled  ,crushed  and pound .

They came  like the broken winged  dove,

to tease like the pangs of love,

that  snatch all sleep,

leave me to sigh and weep

rather late in to the night

These torturous delights !!!

But today , bright as sunshine,

again they came ,not to complain

but as robust , determined and sane

to bloom and wait their turn

For this , they did return .

Do they ever die , these little dreams

that harbour in our soul- schemes ?

The little flames on little lamps

Casting shadows  and forms ,

Urging the soul- force to fly high

without a regret , whimper or cry.
