Words.

Spoken in a haste

No thought given

perhaps, Out of taste.

Words.

Begging to be said

the perfect moment

alas! in vain.

The perfect words swirl

In my head;

Like you

in my heart.

A Word.Then another

Drowned in the depths

(Never to be said)

To keep you alive

In my thoughts.

Where you’d always listen

to my words, to me.

Where, I could always find you

with or without words.

  1. Hi
Nicely crafted and a good theme and the extended simile of word being like ‘you’ within my mind .
    very impressive

    Preeti,
nice to see you posting again with a “new” poem 🙂
A very attracting poem. Simple language, clear but not to be read through quickly. I read this poem stumbling over line to line, swaying from one perspective to another as one does inside one’s thoughts.
The “you” could be one of several people or things or even the divine. I see at the core a sense of loss and confusion and uncertainty within that is so often felt by the human heart, mind, soul. The “Words.” that fail to function, to communicate when unsaid or unheard, to touch that from which we long for a response,
