Ghosts exist
not the ones that come
into our realm of visualization
on hearing the word
the form in which
they are believed to  occur
but ghosts surely exist
their nature akin to
the expected one
they inexorably haunt
create a mayhem in lives
handicap their victims
generate fear, potent,
enough to shatter oneself

They are ghosts of the past
memories  curbed somewhere
deep inside the dominion of conscience
consciously or subconsciously
like glowing embers buried in ash
waiting for a wind
perhaps just a breeze
to stir it all up
give it a chance
to burn down the forest
of emotions, hopes, reason
all that support sanity
conceivably  in pragmatic sense
life itself

And the only thing to hunt them
is the ability to move on
making them a part of life’s lessons,
And a will to back one’s existence

  1. Gion Gion says:

    “…ghosts….
like glowing embers buried in ash
    waiting for a wind
    perhaps just a breeze
    to stir it all up
    give it a chance
    to burn down the forest
    of emotions, hopes, reason
    all that support sanity
    conceivably in pragmatic sense
life itself” – they linger and loom about us when we are least prepared,
    Fergus

    Hitesh,
yes, ghosts are born within us, of our uncertainties.
Very good imagery, great use of language,

Excellent! The thought process smoothly presents itself! And I totally agree, the ghosts of our past and of our deeds have the capability to haunt and scare us more than anything else! Stars All!

    nice one! Hitesh
