Genetic Debate !

Few decades back nobody thought,
One will ever debate over “Eggplants”.
Eggplant is no plant from eggs,
But our very favourite “Baingan”.

How much we cherish you,
In form of ‘Baingan Bharta’,
In Aloo Baingan and Raita,
In Stuffed Masala Baingan.

In many ways you teased our palate,
Gave us gastronomic delight.
Enriched you are in all ways,
Makes us strong and healthy always.

Now what is this debate all about?
Genes modified so you can be in ample,
With no pests feeding on you but for man,
Not sure about nutrition but for cancer.

Why does man play with Nature?
When he is incaple of giving life,
Why does he always tamper?
Can you please leave us alone?

Educate people not to waste,
Why grow things in haste?
Things that are disaster,
Speading disease faster.

People stick close to nature,
Eat less, waste no more,
So all mouths are fed with no fake,
And save lives which are at stake !

Very meaningful thoughtful poem on this important issue..
This introduction at present seems to be quite hazardous and most uncalled for. Who is behind all this move and its introduction, what is the motivation for it and who is deriving the real benefit from all this activity needs serious & threadbare investigation. We should not be made guinea pigs.

Vandana Singh Mishra Reply:

@Vishvnand, Thats the concern, why do we have to play around with the health and why dont we educate people regarding wasting(big issue in US as they waste almost 35% of the food, Which i experienced personally)..and then just to satisfy “world hunger” we cannot give hazardous things to people to eat, what difference are we making when we are eventually killing people..either by hunger or by cancer?
