This Wondrous Heart.
What a truly wondrous living thing,
It’s inner workings so amazing,
This crazy red schizophrenic heart.
With joy and sorrow this organ skips
And every kiss upon the lips,
Beats faster this thing we call heart.
Kavkas mountaineers free from attack?
Turns out somethings from their diet lack
And keeps strong the beat of their heart.
With stents and by-pass surgery
And all new kinds of pharmacy,
Doctors now can aid a many heart.
It’s sad how easily it can break
And even the strongest body shake,
When one deals carelessly with the heart.
When we were young it throbbed so bold,
Later life can turn it stone hard cold,
This sometimes feeble and fickle heart.
Even after having been through all,
It can still be open to a call,
Sympathizing, empathizing heart.

Very beautiful and a very differently hearty poem on heart,
Kudos to you for this.
A complete mystery & full of poetry is everyone’s heart,
How can doctor’s say they know the heart on seeing a chart.

Whenever possible I buy blank greeting cards and write my own messages. It always feels good to create from my heart. I believe poetry is all around, in every thing and action and spontaneous speech. Renewed by the human spirit's appreciation of beauty and goodness. There is no unchanging standard that can reside in perfection in books rarely read.
I am a husband and father of 2. Starting to write down before forgetting.
Know what I like when I've read it, trying to get to grips with photography.
Gentleman of leisure, not uneducated, all spelling and grammar errors I lay upon my eyesight.
An ode to heart. So well written, capturing all the ins and outs of heart. Beautiful. I liked this line:
‘This crazy red schizophrenic heart.’

Anuradha
