English Poetry

A reunion that was long overdue,

memories to cherish I never knew.

Laughed and giggled like there’s no tomorrow,

wines and champagne washed away our sorrow.

Trip on the bus to a destination somewhere,

awakened others with our laughter’s bare.

Last row was painful but quite a fun,

when we wanted to get off and run.

Break of the dawn so mesmerising,

while the little one next to us was crying.

Kept on clicking like I was some kind of a pro,

as the boats and ships passed by at a stones throw.

Reached our destination but rain played a spoilsport,

our blunder was not to have read the MET report.

In hope stayed on for a couple of days for the sky to clear,

in our lovely little den that was miles away from the pier.

Dined and tried everything that was on the platter,

turned those evenings to a memory to remember.

Gulped the beer one after another to get sloshed,

as the tattoo artist Che on my arm slowly embossed.
