“The Prime Premier Of India”

**********

Since Independence, India stood under wings of 14-Premiers,

Among whom included were both Juniors and Seniors !

Shaking hands willy-nilly, as if, each-other’s fellow,

Chronologically their names are enumerated below:

J.L. Nehru, G.L. Nanda, L.B. Shashtri, Indira Gandhi,

Morarji Desai, Charan Singh, Rajiv Gandhi,

V.P. Singh, Chandra Shekhar, P.V. Narsimha Rao,

A.B. Bajpayee, H.D. Deve Gowda, I.K. Gujral !

On date, remains reigning Man Mohan Singh,

Opposition calling him Puppet in Sonia’s string !

Behind the screen aspirant hidden is Rahul Gandhi,

Though as usual denying like his Paa Rajiv Gandhi !

None among all names proved at par of Late Indira,

Whose tenures were unquestionably Golden Era !

Her achievements were superbly over them all,

Operation Blue Star resulted in her fatal fall !

1971-War was India’s rememberable victory,

Which glorified the nation with a Golden History !

Unmindful of Foreign threats of  VII-War Fleet,

India won the war both in the West and the East !

10-millions of the hoi-polloi of East Pakistan,

Were succoured with well-wishing efficacious plan !

Resultantly born was Independent Bangladesh,

Pakistan was thus conquered and it eclipsed his face !

Further thrilling achievement was of nuclear power,

Displayed in 1974 at Pokaran with thunderous shower !

Indira was thus appropriately a unique entity in India.,

Well-said, “India is Indira, Indira is India” !

Also by her name Indira even exceeded India by ‘R”,

Politically, diplomatically,  she was India’s Superstar !

She is  an adorable personhood of Global repute,

This assessment ever anyone can hardly refute !

Surname Gandhi has proved ever charismatic,

Mahatama Gandhi,  Indira Gandhi prove this arithmetic !

Successor like Rajiv Gandhi cherished such instinct,

Centre-forward Rahul Gandhi must accomplish the link !

A wonderful comment on India’s premiers till date and on the future hopeful. Congrats to you, Sir, on this fine piece of work.

Ashwini Kumar Ji, fantastic in details and meaning
A very dignified & delighting poem,
Beautiful & commendable by all means,
But one individual is likely to feel great grudge,
A Gandhi by marriage about whom you didn’t write enough
Her mother in law you have profusely praised,
What about this Italindian who from junk, saved Congress & raised,
For in Congress did no Indian leader worth the name then had remained…? 🙂

@Vishvnand, Dear Sir, I have already
explicated that Surname Gandhi is charismatic, in whatever way it has
been suffixed. Mrs. Indira’s spouse was also perhaps a persian, but
attracted her also charismatically. Mahatma Gandhi was a Gujerati and
charismatic as Gandhi Ji having compelled the British to quit India.
So is quite seemingly Rahul Gandhi going ahead to accomplish the
link, though yet off the screen. It’s, therefore, admittedly seeming quite
undeniable phenomenon of charisma of this surname, whether
suffixed to Sonia, Rahul, Varun and also Menka, all being off and on
picturesque with whatever repute they stand for even in media, save
      the introverted intelligentsia.

  5. C K goswami says:

    “इंदिरा में शक्ति अपार थी
    उसमे विलक्षण बुद्धि की तेज धार थी
sab pradhan mantriyon में R ko paya
devgoda aur manmohansingh hi is R se bach paya
R में शक्ति hai rajeev rahul ko dekh lo
lekhak mebhi R ashwinikumar se seekh lo
    kavita तेज tarrar hai
    isliye diya 5 star hai
