Flight

Loading ...Gliding across the vast expanse
twittering and chirping
Hopping and strutting
Pecking and preening
Surveying the earth in a gleeful glance.
The purity in the air I breathe in
The feeling of freedom while I am sweeping…
The journey I take, so enthralling,
The joy I feel, ever so empowering !
Forgetting that my duties await,
Ignoring the twinges that my mind makes,
Closing my eyes to the miseries of life,
Rapturously, my wings take a further hike !
Childhood to adolescence, maturity ruled,
From then until now, duties pulled,
The odyssey imparting plenty education,
The resultant rewards causing elation !
Exulting in the joyous aftermath,
Always fearing the Almighty’s wrath,
Never pondered on Escaping the meshes,
The scent of freedom evading the senses.
Fluttering the sprouting wings in a flash,
The bird inside escaped with a flash !
Swept the skies in astounding rapture,
The exuberance adding the oomph
To a journey that was so lacklustre !!!

@Vishvnand, Honestly, Vishva ji, I penned this to quieten my conscience and flew with the flow. All the encouragement I get from you all instigates me to take further steps, नहीं तो, सब कुछ डायरियों में ही तो था ! तो, धन्यवाद आप सब का और प्रशंसा भी आप ही सब की !
Born and brought up in Kanpur, married in Jaipur and now in Chandigarh, I have been fortunate to taste various cultures of our country. Had a brief stint in teaching while in Jaipur but more duties called. Now, help my husband in his business as much as I can. I love Music, reading, writing, painting, when time allows as I am part of a family of nearly 70 lovely people. I will always be indebted to p4poetry for providing an outlet for what I had always kept under lock and key.

@Ray, Thank you sir. I wrote it in haste as somehow, when a long gap is given, I feel guilty, as if an important chore had been overlooked.
