India, Meri Jaan

Forgive me, India, if I have forsaken you
For my dreams and wishes.

I know I have flayed each norm,
Each rule, each sense of belonging.
I know I have plucked each root,
Each feather, each burning ember
To feed the splitting atoms of my heart.

Because I know the vastness of your realm,
The heights of your dreams
And the depths of your heart.

But then, if you are my mother, as they say,
Should I not take the liberty to fulfill my dreams?
Forgive me, India, I’m forced and bound.
Just like you.

hmmm…a mother always forgives
& many of her sons have abused her
this my mother of mothers – India
One more time, 2gether lets love her

@viju,

Is it not strange that we ask for one more time? And then we do the same thing again when are given a second chance?
warm regards,

Sushil,
there is a sadness and inevitability seeping from each line,

@Gion Gion,
The sadness is real. It is coming out from the depths of my heart. I am missing the winters here in New Delhi. I am missing the chirping of sparrows that used to wake me up in the morning. They have all gone, simply disappeared. All that I can see around me are mosquitoes, stray dogs, filth collected over the years…But these are simple things. Are we a nation of nationalists or simply merchants?
Warm regards
Sushil
