Roads are flooded with water
And children play with laughter
With no roof over their head
Wale-up politician give them the bed you promised.

People commute in boats
Without bridges to cross the river
They struggle to reach office
Wake-up politician put their life at ease.

Villages don’t have drinking water
Women travel a long distance
To fill their pot with water
Wake-up politician make their load lighter.

Don’t go into big sleep
Only to wake-up after 5 years
Again to make false promises
Winning the election and going back to sleep.

Very beautiful poem, The manner in which a gentleman would address the present herd of politicians, that too in poetry, Liked immensely.
    Thanks for sharing.
The unfortunate fact however is that they don’t understand such nice language, and when people try to explain these facts in their language, which they understand, they remind us of Bapuji, talk of non-violence, and tell us not to take law in your own hands… 🙂
But the fact remains that they have to be talked to in their language only for any effect.
