Wooing Life
Neither in a five star, nor in a three,
Just out in the open, where all is free,
With sky as God’s blanket for me,
Adorned with innumerable stars pretty.
Morn beckons with luminous rays,
Peeping from the dawn’s misty haze,
Slowly my eyes open to my room limitless,
And smile at the pristine magnificence.
Craning my neck, looking far in the woods,
I see some imps cavorting in frolic oh so good!
No clothes, no luxuries, still playing merrily.
Without a care in the world nor any worry,
Like life being wooed from a grave deadly.
The content, the tranquility,I’d come searching,
Years of work in city had all that lacking,
The freshness in that one enchanting glance,
Filled me up and I went into a trance,
Willing my heart to stay so composed,
To come back again to this gracious host!
It has always been my dream to get away to the woods. And as it is not possible actually, I let my imagination take a free rein !

@krishna, I am grateful for this appreciation. The words came to mind on the Shatabdi from Delhi.
Very beautiful, enchanting poem.
Liked immensely

@Vishvnand, Vishva ji, your appreciation means a lot and I feel so good!
Have dreamt of woods and nature always but
sadly, get no chance to go, so I please myself with vivid imagination!
Boss……Tussi Great ho…………….
This is a winner no doubt……………………
What beautiful words………I thought the first was pretty ordinary……….but boss you just flew on an imagination flight………………
I am now envious………
A normal Poet would have gone to hillstations and explained the beauty around……but boss you got it all………you got it like god hmself gave it to you………………………….
Stars = one hundred and eighty five……………….

@ULHAS, Arre Ulhas, where will we place them?
Thanks a ton , I feel on top of the world with your words. Never imagined my imagination would be so well received . And yes, I do feel His blessings always.
The above juvenilia, I dare say the nicest of yours. Please
go ahead for further inputs for our pleasure. a.k. goswami.

@ashwini kumar goswami, Thank you Sir for this encouragement.
Parminder G, I, however, regret having forgotten inviting a witty critic and
commentator of your calibre to peruse a couple of my very recent poems
of the week ! a.k. goswami.
congratssssssssssssssssssssssss
this one certainly speaks out my heart in plain simple language. shifting from the countryside to a town, from a town to a city- the transitional phase pains us. the desire always stays…especially when all of us are crowding the city and making it difficult for the air to flow, claustrophobia we begin to breed.
a walk in the beach, a nest in the woods…
thank you ma’am for letting my heavy heart flow…

@purabi, Purabi, you pen such beautiful lines on nature always, I don’t think I have that calibre. But, who can stop the heart from dreaming? That is what I am… a dreamer, and if that gives pleasure to others, it is a blessing…. Thank you for this appreciation .

Born and brought up in Kanpur, married in Jaipur and now in Chandigarh, I have been fortunate to taste various cultures of our country. Had a brief stint in teaching while in Jaipur but more duties called. Now, help my husband in his business as much as I can. I love Music, reading, writing, painting, when time allows as I am part of a family of nearly 70 lovely people. I will always be indebted to p4poetry for providing an outlet for what I had always kept under lock and key.
A fantastic piece of work,
can be read again and again.
