Crowned Poem, English Poetry

Written for Thread strated by Shalu –> http://forum.p4poetry.com/topic.php?id=231

Chocolates, roses, wine
Branded clothes, plunging necklines
Expenses rise, love declines
What an irony of Valentine!

Written with thought
Sealed in an envelope
My three little words-
I’m happy alone!

The chocolates were fine
The Roses smelt divine
The diamond shines bright
Pale substitute for you – my valentine.

The cupid’s arrow struck the frog
How do I turn him into a prince?
Contemplating a make-over kiss (eww…)
I settled for turning myself into a frog miss!

‘Thanks for the gift’, I said.
‘Pink roses, but I prefer them red’
He flushed and said
‘Your sister prefers them red!’

Great one….its amazing how one can use even a useless topic and make a great poem out of it…..I mean most of the people would start on love and end on only love and write about valentine……..you have something more here…..
