Freedom from…

Freedom from soaring property prices,

common household stuffs like usual spices.

Freedom from an ever pricey gas and petrol,

just everything is going crazily out of control.

Freedom from the worse pot-holed highway,

never ending digs, opened manhole on your way.

Freedom from soaring house rents and security,

as brokers fleece you in total legitimacy.

Freedom from rush at the train stations,

taking a ride is another big tension.

Freedom from my tax going into corruption,

invest on infrastructure than on munitions.

Freedom from dirt, filth and no sanitation,

hygiene is a far cry for this generation.

Freedom from rash driving and out of lane,

its crazy, disappointing and very insane.

Freedom from all the betel nuts stains,

dirty walls at the end of the day remains.

Freedom from utter carelessness of my countrymen,

know that this is our home and not a filthy den.

Let us be aware.Let us not litter. Let us not honk unnecessarily.Let us drive carefully, lets follow the lane, lets not chew pan and stain every possible places.
India is incredible but incredibly filthy too…

Sometimes I really get upset. We citizens are equally responsible…

We lack civic sense…. and the saying is ‘ Once the habit of obedience to the law is gone, it is very difficult to imbibe it’

Its good you have hightlighted these issues.

Let’s hope all of us imbibe civic sense and keep lanes as clean as our houses. Well, when someone who is totally careless here goes abroad, say, in Singapore, how come they are then aware that they are not to litter?
It is in the mind– let’s educate these minds.

Good poem indeed.
These problems are known, rampant and growing and nothing effective or appropriate is being done to control & bring about a reversal in their proliferation.
The only solution is implementing a disciplined system of catching & giving exemplary punishment to people indulging in it & also to the employed officials who are assigned & paid for controlling the menace but are not performing their assigned duties. This, in my opinion, is the only way, in the present situation, of educating the people to be good citizens and behave like one. Is this possible in a democracy & vote bank politics like ours?

Discipline and law is not followed that is the only reason why india is not growing…….really speaking its not the education factor…………
