Written Words

Terrifying to some and simple to others
Subject, Object, Predicate
Noun, Verb, Adverb, Adjective,
Syntax, Context, so many terms …

Yet, they are the doors,
To eons of knowledge gathered by man,
Enter and thou shall be fulfilled,
As by no other device.

Conquests, Victories, Kingdoms, Magic,
Discoveries, Inventions, Explorations,
Speeches, Jokes, Dialogues, Stories,
Poems, Odes, Ballads, Epics,
Truths, Theologies, Fiction, Fact …

I look at the words and delight!
They reveal much to me,
And yet when sleep comes silently,
I give in to it, and the Words dissolve
into dreams.

Speak ‘em not into my ears, and pass ‘em not before my nose:
Just serve them all up to my eyes, to read ever more.
