Dying poetry…
Got to write something everyday,
but not something that’s somber in a way.
The pleasure of poetry dying in trying to be serious,
its time we start pouring something funny and humorous.
Its boring to be with someone who calls him a poet,
rather be with someone singing outrageous duets.
All we need is simplicity well expressed,
a meaningful thought that doesn’t make you depressed.
Let’s write about laughter and good times,
share the lyrics that sounds good and rhymes.
Let’s write about light that shines our days,
about a man hopeful, who always prays.
Let us all evolve from depression before its chronic,
let us be bubbly, chirpy and not sound too sick.
Let us be creative but let it not be about something mundane,
let us be normal before the world call us sad and insane.
Let’s not impose our thoughts when we something compose,
it doesn’t matter, it can be poetry or a funny prose.
Let us just write about something nice and bright,
for we’re tired of thoughts sounding serious and contrite.

nicely written….. its true that the essence of poetry writing might get lost in trying to be better than other..
but krishna i don’t agree with the line…
“Its boring to be with someone who calls him a poet,”
Thanks Apoorv for all your wonderful comments…
Even I don’t agree but this is the general perception that people have about poets - gloomy and serious…
Anyways thanks a lot…

I am not what I say but what you perceive...
I am not what I give but what you receive.//
I am just a normal young fellow,
I am my true self when I am mellow.///
Revealing my self in my thoughts,
telling my state in varied words.//
At the end of the day I am here to fade away,
it's just a matter of time before I sway.///
To be dead and gone,
into oblivion all alone.//
Would leave behind these roads,
traces of me in the form of words.///
renders good thought about poetry and gives sound advice to the budding poets.well written. thank you.
