Ramayan for the Modern dudes

This poem tells the story of the Ramayan, in a new modern way as understood by today’s kids. Dont take it wrong…..God Prevails…..Also suggest a Title..

Must have been a blue Saturday night, at the local town pub,

where dinner is served at best, and beer flows off mug,

the boys of Ayodhya, roamed around pretty new at the place

and the girls at the joint, seeing them were quite crazed and amazed.

Handsome kids these, much in their teens,

caught hanging around the streets, with blue Ray-bans and jeans,

so much to the pleasure of Surpanaka, one of them was damn cute, hot to the core.

and so she followed him, that evening, right to his door.

Detective of this princess, scanned  this guys profile that night,

and she damn rocking, dressed in black, proposed him upright,

the crazy lass, got a nod, from both charming Ram and his bro,

and when she wont heed to their request, boy she got a bloody blow.

Then torn and beaten, the poor girl rushed to her villainous cousin,

in his refuge, she called for revenge, and god wasn’t she so mean?

In a gutless plan, Ram’s wife was their eye, the beautiful miss world once,

kidnapping her, would settle scores, for her cousins old lost romance.

Later that day, the midday’ had ad’s of her missing,

the story ran a hot news and the police spread miles searching,

and as Ram’s old friends got the news, they came right to his aid,

and over a dinner that night, Sugriva promised a crusade.

This back-alley guy, sure had some guts, though with little authority,

thrown away from his own Bronx, his old hangout gully.

And well in his nerves, he promised Ram a search

and in return the brave guy Ram, agreed to win back for him his arch.

So did they rejoice, little much in pain, and beers poured again,

that night at the bar, more friend gathered and joined in the campaign.

Old friends were sure at help, and one of them was hanuman,

he knew little about her where-abouts just enough to draft a plan.

He Set out then, with an approach proof, Ram’s wedding ring,

on a plane, overseas to Lanka, he flew first class, on Air-Lankan wing.

A five-course dinner, and a window seat, brought him carried.

and sure he met Sita, detained and worried, then he set fire and had half the city buried.

Fumed and annoyed, was the whole camp, over this tale,

when hanuman told Ram, how Sita looked pale.

Though there were points to delight, and plans looked coming through

for now they had Ravana’s own brother, Vibhishan in their crew.

Vibhishan, in hatred of his brother’s awful scam,

joined in for friendship, his old friend Ram,

he was a cool Hawaiian kind of dude,

and had his troops sightseeing, while he planned the bloody feud.

The guys built a bridge - a floating stone walkway

Over the waters, marveled pebbles pave,

For they never got a credit, they never got counted,

in the Seven-wonders list, they never were accounted.

So they crossed the bridge and settled in tents along the bay,

{Without Vibhishan, god,  they wouldn’t have known atall the way}.

Then on such fine morning, when the hen sent a croak,

the arrows stormed and the guns spelled, boom boom in the smoke.

Vibhishan, in all his treason, call it good or bad in reasons,

placed all the home truths for a truthful liaison.

And in hundreds was the number, the army of Sugriva built strong

With Ram and his bro laxman, they all fought the evil along.

Every thing beyond this was news,

the cover stories talked of wars and bruise.

And the local newspapers were prompt to report.

about all the put-in team effort.

With all this done and Lanka defeated, of all its nasty things,

Vibhishan was throned again, for there wasn’t any other better king.

Sugriva and hanuman, both returned triumphed and set up a kingdom each

and the happy trio, Ram, Sita, laxman, traveled home, back over the bridge.

hehe…such a wild theme!refreshing, but you might agree with me that “inexpensive dream” was way better than this…I know I should not compare poems belonging to two completely different genres;but…I think you got my point.
