Then and Now

Gone are the days…

When I would cycle….

In the rains…

On the roads

And paddle through watery ways

Gone are the days….

When I would play video games

RoadFighter, Mario, Contra…

Glued to the television; Neighbors and me

Life was such a rollercoaster

Gone are the days….

When I would come from school

Run down to play Cricket, Badminton, Football…

And other outdoors games

Without much thought about the future

But these days are nevertheless

As good as the good old days

Having the satisfaction of days well lived

Treasuring them in a corner of my heart

And still trying to live with that same zest

Interests have changed

Poetry, Photography, Travel….

But the child in me

Tries to come out every now and then

Seeing him in my nephew

Who I play with….

Just like a toddler,

Effervescence spilling out

Such is life…

Roles change; but life goes on.
