कम्पनी का बजट …१९७०..!

‘कम्पनी’ में ‘सीजन’ बड़ा इस ‘बजट’ का,
‘मीटिंग’ पे ‘मीटिंग’ इसी पर चली है,
हमसब जुटे हैं इसी ही ‘बजट’ में,
क्या लिख रहें हैं, मालूम नहीं है…….!

चौथा ‘रिवीजन’ अभी ही हुआ है,
‘रिटाईप’ सारे ‘स्टेटमेंट’ हैं करना,
‘बजट’ और ‘एकचुअल’ में मेल नहीं है,
ढूंढें न मिलता कोई बहाना,
देखते नहीं तुम, मैं कितना ‘बिजी’ हूँ,
‘कस्टमर’ से मिलने हमे तुम न कहना.
‘कम्पनी’ में ‘सीजन’ बड़ा इस बजट का,
‘कस्टमर’ से मिलने की फुरसत नहीं है……..!

‘मीटिंग’ से आकर साहबजी बोले,
‘बजट’ ‘सेल्स’ का यह हमे है बढ़ाना,
नहीं मानते वो अपनी ‘फिगर’ को,
‘डबल’ या ‘टिबल’ इन ‘फिगर’ को है करना.
बोला ‘असिस्टंट’ बड़े ही अदब से,
ज़रा हिचकिचाते अपने साहब से,
अब तक तो गिरते थे ‘फर्स्ट फ्लोर’ से हम,
‘थर्ड फ्लोर’ से कूदने को न कहना..
‘कम्पनी’ में ‘सीजन’ बड़ा इस ‘बजट’ का,
‘पम्पिंग’ और ‘जम्पिंग’ की सर्कस चली है……..!

साहिब आगे बोले……
‘एक्सपेन्स’ भी अपना काफी बड़ा है,
बुलाओ सभी को, हमे उनसे कहना,
हरइक आदमी को, कम्पनी मे अपनी,
‘कॉस्ट’ का ‘रिडक्शन’ है जोरों से करना.
इक ‘प्यून’ अबतक जो चुप सुन रहा था,
बोला साहिब से ज़रा हिचकिचाते,
अब तक तो मिलती थी पत्लून हमको,
‘हाफ पेन्ट’ पहनने हमें तुम न कहना.
कम्पनी में सीजन बड़ा इस बजट का,
‘कॉस्ट’ के ‘रिडक्शन’ की हरकत चली है…………!

कम्पनी में सीजन बड़ा इस बजट का,
मीटिंग पे मीटिंग इसी पर चली है,
हमसब जुटे हैं इसी ही बजट में,
क्या लिख रहें हैं, मालूम नहीं है…….!
क्या कर रहें हैं वो भी मालूम नहीं है….!

(Systematic & detailed Budgeting exercise was introduced in the Company around the Year 1969. Unfortunately, being in its initial stages, it had become a very elaborate laborious exercise involving lot of complicated calculations/statements/assumptions and a headache to the executives. This poem was composed as a satire on this Budget exercise & rendered in the Executive/Officers party at that time viz: year 1970. Over the years, the exercise was subsequently modified/simplified based on experience gained. Is this poem, in any way, relevant today? )
