THE HOUSE

It’s raining out today
descending in me.
I stare at her house
as I always do
with desire and despair.
It has grown bright after bathing
pink where pink
red where red
the milky light in the room eludes
the window glass
and half drawn curtain.

The iron gate seems firm as ever
with the dog guarding it
roving beneath the porch.
The mango tree stands
beside the swing painted white
the pots on the roof
hold aged soil and floral plants.

It’s ten in the morning
the third day of February
It’s raining out
descending in me.

Comments

good poetry and good use of imagery and imagination, specially liked the lines “pink where pink ” red where red”
and also the idea in last two lines.
