One day king…
Following are lamentations of a poor man upon the riches of the world…
Make me the king of this world for a day,
And I shall kill all the poor and downtrodden,
For I know, how it feels to be at life’s liberty
And see yourself perish as rich thrive.
Make me king and I shall never be forgotten,
Being the one who abolished poverty,
For I know-the poor ought not to stay alive.
Loan me a winsome lottery some day-
To expend each penny with glamour and fun,
And waste all away in hollow pomp and show,
While I drink my heart warm and tear turkeys to charm-
The women laden in perfumes, with heads as crow.
Make merries before the labor toiling in farm
And party each night as their children to death bow,
While I cut their wage to adorn my arm in bracelets
And shampoo my cat for its fur to glow.
Will not let the malodor of poverty spoil my breath,
And shall measure the shortest distances in cars luxurious,
And run down stray dogs and poor humans alike.
Ignore the heavenly smile of urchins, otherwise dearth,
As I beat them, when they ring my door bell for a moment hilarious.
Shall make my slaves work through health or malaria alike,
And suspect them if ever a thing in my house goes missing,
While I bargain with pity grocers to see rates reducing,
As stands upon their doorsteps poverty-their death seducing!
O Humanity! Crown me the monarch only till sunset-
And I will ensure the sun sets in the sky all red,
With the blood of weak and powerless,
Who decay of hunger as we waste surplus.
To rid this world of all its filth and pain,
Make me king and I will die next day,
For who will want to live as a beggar again,
(And that too the only one) so Make Me king-that’s all I say…

A very strong sarcasm showing the other psychological dimension of a poor man….yeah it is true to a great extent..be it pain or frustration…understandable and surely not appreciable
Excellent.
A very telling poetry of the heartlessness & insensitivity of the Affluent & Rich towards the poor & the extent of the frustration of the poor. Put forth in a very novel & unique manner. Very commendable indeed.
