On the face of it, this poem has a lot of merit. It shows the selflessness of a mother. At the same time, the actual details of where the person started (chennai) or where he is bound (UK) is inconsequential. For a poem to rise above the ordinary, the appeal must be timeless and universal. I second R Haran’s request.
