Nature’s Fury
It’s an early monsoon morning,
Almost 7:00AM,
As the sun…
Refuses to show its face,
As a cloud rack,
Appears over my place.
There is still darkness…
As the clouds…
Look lively,
As thunderbolts get unleashed…
From within the clouds,
As they hit a tree,
Which gets ablazed,
And a violent gusty storm,
Heads towards my place.
My heart is gripped in horror…
As I see the destruction…
From the glass windows,
Of my comfy house,
As the houses…
That come in the way,
Of the violent storm,
Get one by one…
Ripped apart.
As the storm comes nearer and nearer,
My heart gets heavier and heavier,
As I leave my glass house,
And run helter-skelter,
The angry rain gods…
Start pouring down rain on earth.
The rain comes down,
At lightning speeds,
And in a matter of few minutes…
The earth seems to be…
Immersed in water,
As I walk…
In knee deep water,
Step after step,
Away from my beloved house,
I see it loosing its ground,
As the windows…
Get shattered into pieces,
And the roof flies in the air,
And my temper…
Gets hotter and hotter…every second,
As I scream out loud…
In anger and pain,
As my house…
Gets torn in bits and pieces,
And all my belongings…
Lost in the tragedy.
That very evening…
As I walk on the street,
Soaky and tired,
Deeply saddened…
By the tragic day,
Loosing every ounce of hope,
That tomorrow…
Will be a better day.
That night…
As I feel the cold…
Getting intense every second,
And my lips turn blue,
As my heart gets weaker and weaker,
As my body withers with time,
I see a glimmer of hope,
As I see a friend…
I had helped…
In his darkest hour,
Come nearer and nearer…
As I reel in the pain.
He takes me to a hospital,
Where I lay in bed for days,
As I recover physically,
Each passing day…
Getting better and better,
But the mental scars…
That the grueling day left…
Haunt my life forever……
